A Beautiful Start

Today didn't start out too great. Erin woke up under the weather - apparently she caught whatever Jim brought home from Vegas. So we decided that she'd spend the day at home. We came downstairs to find a most incredible sunrise going on outside our back windows. (And our kitchen and family room, which face the back yard, are almost entirely windows, so it was quite a view!) We've had some gorgeous sunrises since we've lived here, but this one ranks up there as one of the best. Who can't have a good day when this is one of the first things they see?  (And to perfectly honest, these are pretty much straight out of the camera. The only thing I did to them was resize them and put the date on them.)



A few minutes later, I looked again, and the colors had completely changed!


All I can say is, WOW!

    Very pretty. We woke up (late - scheduled day out of school) to snow. It doesn't appear to be covering the roads, just adding to the snow already on the ground. Your pictures have inspired me to pull out the camera and capture a winter sunrise as on regular school mornings I'm up well before sunrise.

    Stunning, stunning! I just love thesee---and am so glad that you caught the changing colors. Why is it that the winter sunrises are so vivid and gorgeouw?

    Sunsets are one of the few things I miss since we moved. Being stuck between all these mountains, there's never much of one. Love the colors.

    Truly beautiful! I woke up to an extremely dreary day and it looks like we might have a few more like this in the near future. So I'm enjoying your sunrise vicariously.
