Boys

I'm a mom of a girl, and I love it. I love the pretty clothes, the great colors, the dolls, the chick flicks, and all the girlie goodness that goes along with having a daughter. (I could do without some of the girl drama, but that's for another day's post.) I sometimes look at the moms of boys that I know and wonder how they do it. Boys just seem so different than girls, in so many ways, than what I'm used to. Once in a while, I get to have a small (very small!) dose of what it's like to have little boys in the house. Today, for example, I brought home my friend Kristi's son, Jacob, after school to help her out. I adore Jacob. He's a very sweet little boy with great manners, and he's a joy to have around. He apparently really looks forward to coming to my house because he knows I always have homemade cookies (and who doesn't like THOSE?) and we have an iPad with Angry Birds on it. But just looking at his backpack and shoes reminded me of how different boys and girls are. They made me smile. Because as much as I love the girliness of Erin, this is just a really cute contrast.

    I have 2 girls so I get the "girl thing" but I also have 5 older brothers so I get the "boy" stuff toO!

    I have one of each and watching their styles change over the years has been interesting. Cute backpack.

    See, I'm the mom of a boy and I'm a little jealous of all the cute girly stuff.

    Now you need a picture of her backpack and shoes to compare. (Neat storyboard?)

    I have one of both, and yes, they are so different! My son has the same shoes too. Ha.

    Very different! I have 3 girls and 2 boys but only ONE girl is a girly girl, so only ONE to dress up! The backpack and shoes are SO boy! If you had another visiting, they would probably be wrestling, chasing, or out digging for bugs, once they're done with Angry Birds!

    What a cute idea to take pictures of. I can see the differences. We were so blessed when we finally had our daughter, it only took 6 boys before her. :)

    Yep need some girlie shoes here :)! I was blessed with two boys before my baby girl came along. I have to say the splash of pink in my life has been fun!

    Great post. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother but I don't know what it is like to have boys around the house because I was born after he moved out. I would have loved to see what it would have been like!
