Getting Lost

I am, and always have been, an avid reader. I love nothing better (well, almost nothing better) than getting lost in a great book for hours on end, and hate when I reach the end of it. Erin hasn't always followed in my footsteps in this area, but lately, she's been honing in on books that really seem to catch and keep her interest. Her latest faves are the books in the "Mother-Daughter Book Club" series, by Heather Vogel Frederick. Erin read the first book just before her winter break, and devoured in in less than a week. (I read it after her, and actually really enjoyed it as well. What do you know!) For Christmas, we bought her the other three books in the series. The second one also took her around a week. She finished it this morning, and immediately grabbed the third one, even going so far as to take it out with us when we ran our errands, and reading it in a restaurant while we had lunch. Her goal for today is to continue reading until Jim gets home from Las Vegas (which should be in around 2 1/2 hours from now, if he doesn't hit any traffic). I have to say, as much as I love getting lost in a good book, I love seeing Erin do it, too!

  1. I love getting lost in books too. The last ones I read was the Twilight series. Which was... over a year ago *aHem..*. I am really trying to get back into reading, I have had some books recommended to me so hopefully I will be up all night with a flashlight soon! Ha!
I love that your daughter loves to read!

  2. I love it when my children find books that consume them. Regrettably, with the number of books required by their courses, they have little to no time to read what they like and it has put a damper on their enthusiasm.
