It's a new year, and that means new beginnings all around. The world around me is full of people making resolutions and promises to themselves. As for me, I've made a few as well. For one, I'd like to be more consistent about exercising. I have no excuse now that we've set up the treadmill in the garage again. I'm also going to go back to cooking 5 days a week. And I'm once again going to focus on improving my photography skills. I vowed to do that last year, and am happy to say that I was actually successful! I'm much more comfortable using the manual settings on my camera (no more green box or running man settings for me!), and now have an arsenal of good glass help capture my images. As a reward for my hard work and focus (no pun intended), I am now the proud owner a brand-spanking-new Canon 60D - quite the step up from my old, trusty, and much-loved 20D that I've had since 2004. (Erin has already claimed the 20D for herself, and is trying to convince me that the 50mm lens should be included in the deal. Not bad for a 10 year old!) So in keeping with the tradition of new starts for the new year, I've also started this blog. I'm not promising to take a picture a day (that worked for around 9 months last year - not bad, but a HUGE undertaking that I'm not willing to commit to again), but I'd at least like to take one a week, in keeping with the themes posted on the photography boards that I follow. And, of course, if I shoot something interesting (at least to me) more than that, I'll share that too. Just a little project for me during the year. So here's to new beginnings! Good luck with your own!
Nice camera & great shot of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have as much trouble posting daily as I do keeping up with the thread and other's blogs. I'm going to try this year though! I think the encouragement is so great with the 2Peas group.
Erin is pretty lucky to get the 20D!
Congrats on your new camera! My girl inherited my 10D (with the 50mm) when I upgraded, so I think Erin should get yours too. Ha.
